Pain & Anxiety Control
Oral & Facial Surgery of Northeast Texas – Texarkana & Paris TX
Among the many excuses patients give for delaying a needed visit to the oral and maxillofacial surgeon’s office is fear of pain. While anxiety is a normal and common reaction, it has little basis in the dental office of today.
Advanced training in anesthesia techniques and pain control allow our procedures to be performed comfortably with patients awake, sedated, or fully asleep.
For those who prefer to remain awake during surgery, deep and long-lasting locally acting anesthetics to numb the area often combined with oral medications and taped music are very effective. For those wishing to be asleep or have no recollection of their treatment, intravenous anesthetic agents with a long and outstanding record of safe and satisfying results can be administered by the surgeon with all the necessary equipment available on premises.
Be assured that we have extensive training and experience in out-patient anesthesia for oral and maxillofacial surgery patients and procedures. Our facility and treatment protocols meet or exceed standards established by our specialty in the State of Texas. Dr. Bunel and Dr. Duke possess unrestricted Level 4 anesthesia permits from the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. Also, our office facility is current with the Office Anesthesia Evaluation required by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Texas Society of Oral and maxillofacial Surgeons. Besides oral surgeons, no other group of anesthesia providers in dentistry have this degree of expertise or oversight. We want to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for our patients.
Our caring and dedicated staff want to help you have the best dental experience.
